Before joining The Hatchery co-working space, I used The Grind as my "coffice" (coffee shop office) and became a familiar face. Then when I approached the The Grind's owner about hosting some Hempsley Office Hours in their conference room, we worked out a little trade...
Cue, the New Website!
The Grind's online presence needed a facelift to better reflect his brand, and I had spent so much time in the shop that I immediately had an idea of what it should look like. Self-described as "your neighborhood coffee shop," I wanted it to have a professional feel but still have a homey and approachable feel to it.
So one morning, I posted up for about 6 hours in the front window of the shop to style and shoot all the images you see on the site. I had "budgeted" 2 hours...oh how silly of me. Can I never remember how long styling actually takes?
Multiple people told me after the launch of the site that they originally had concerns about the photos I was taking — why did they all have a giant hole in the middle?? But I had a plan, and they've all now said they love it!
My favorite page is the Menu page, screen shotted below — but the site has parallax scrolling, so in order to get the full effect you really just have to go visit it!
