When we began thinking about Edition Two of the Cannabis Cleanse, we weren’t sure where to take it. We had people asking a range of questions, from wondering if the claim that cannabis kills brain cells is true to asking advice on using cannabis during pregnancy. We decided to expand Edition One to answer some of our audience’s questions, set to release today, 4/20.
Then we decided that simply wasn’t going to cut it.
We got lots of wonderful feedback from our community, and were encouraged to put the book into print. Since the book will be doubling in page numbers and helpful information, we knew we wanted the cannabis cleanse to take the shape of something more permanent and accessible than a PDF download. We envision the cannabis cleanse being a book you can pull out and reference, complete with tips and trackers for everything from making smart choices at the grocery store to selecting a strain of weed.
To fund the creation, printing, and promotion of this project we will be launching an Indiegogo campaign early May. We will be offering an assortment of perks for donations that will enhance your Cannabis Cleanse experience, including inspirational prints, compact daily trackers, journals and more. If you would like to go ahead and donate to this project as we begin our endeavor, you can do so here - we appreciate any and all of your support!
We want to make it clear with Edition Two why we chose the language we did, why we are marketing with the term “Cleanse,” and what the real mission behind this book is. In many ways, the cannabis cleanse has the opposite intentions of the traditional cleanses you see on the market, which dictate exactly how much you eat (or don’t eat), over a certain period of time, for the best possible results. Instead of focusing on the finished product, the Cannabis Cleanse shows that it is the process of living a healthy lifestyle that matters the most.
The Cleanse portion of this book is designed to make you more aware of your choices, guiding you to make better decisions for yourself. There are no strict rules, because everyone’s body is unique and reacts differently - to food, alcohol, cannabis and everything else under the sun. The Cannabis Cleanse is not a diet. It is not a detox; it is not a trend. It is your guide to a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Because of our society’s current cleanse craze, we wanted to capitalize on this buzzword and challenge what it means to truly cleanse. For us, detoxing means eliminating negative thinking and habits to bring your body back into its natural and comfortable state. We don’t believe in depriving yourself of the things you truly enjoy but instead want you to be aware of how your choices affect you.
We also thought it was kind of funny that most people would be searching “cannabis cleanse” in a last-ditch effort to get marijuana out their system before a drug test (been there, buddy, felt that). Obviously, our Cannabis Cleanse is a bit different. While we don’t argue that you have to use marijuana to be healthy, we do lay out the arguments and facts for how it can be incorporated into a balanced and responsible lifestyle.
Follow along for more updates on the cannabis cleanse, what you can do to get involved, and how you can help us fund this project. We want to hear how cannabis has helped you or a loved one live a healthier, happier life, because the more people open up about cannabis, the more we can break the stigma. It’s time for the conversation surrounding cannabis to change. Let us know what you have to say!
