I was honored when Karson Humiston of Gradujuana asked me to revamp their website.
The original website, created in Squarespace, had all of the information there - Gradujuana was just looking for an update on the style settings in place.
I chose to keep the parallax scrolling, as I felt it gave the website a subtle dynamism. I replaced the original photograph of a bright green cannabis plant used on each page with a new image that visually described its content. The images are all edited to have a muted softness while still retaining their pops of color to reflect a mature yet relaxed and approachable business vibe.
To replace the original bright green that was used as an accent color throughout the site, I chose a darker green and desaturated blues to compliment the green used in the Gradujuana logo. The green is subtly carried out throughout the site, such as in the disappearing header color bar, buttons, and opening page leaf motif (which was created based off the leaf that appears in the logo).
I chose to open the website with an image of a handshake. I felt the image was a perfect visual description of what Gradujuana's mission - connecting people - while also conveying the correct mood - uplifting, energetic, and exciting.
